Caravaggio in Montenegro

The famous work of art Narcissus at the Fountain of Michelangelo Merisi-Caravaggio, a baroque master, will be displayed from 2nd to 16th June in the Centre of Contemporary Art in Podgorica.

The exhibition has been organized on the occasion of the celebration of the Statehood Day of the Republic of Italy, under the auspices of A2A Company and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Montenegrin Ministries of Culture and Tourism.

Filip Vujanović, the President of Montenegro, Sergio Barbanti, the Ambassador of Italy in Montenegro and Giuliano Zuccoli, the President of A2A Company will deliver speeches at the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition will be open every day (including non-working days) from 10:00 to 20:00 in the Dvorac Petrovica Gallery, within the Centre of Contemporary Art in the Krusevac Park. The admission will be free for all visitors.

The oil on canvas Narcissus at the Fountain, a master piece of Italian art is included in the permanent display of the National Gallery of Ancient Art of Barberini Palace in Rome. Traditionally good relations and successful cooperation between Italy and Montenegro will be marked by a temporary display in Podgorica in the year which marks four centuries from the death of the Great Lombardian artist.
