Surface The total land surface of Croatia is around 57.000 km2, and the surface of territorial waters in total is around 31.067 km2. Political and government Croatia is Multi – party parliamentary democratic republic. Capital city The biggest city by population and territory and its capital city is Zagreb. Zagreb had by the last registration op population 779.145 inhabitants. Zagreb is the economic, cultural, traffic and academic centre of Croatia. Seacoast information Croatia is known by its large number of islands.
Official information’s say that Croatia disposes with 1.185 islands, from which the biggest are: Cres and Krk. Not all islands are inhibited, 47 are. Coast line of Croatia is 5.835,3 km of which 4,058 km comprise the coastlines of island, rocks and reefs. Climate Since its geographical position, structure and form Croatia can be divided in three climate zones. The climate in interior part of the country is moderakly rainy, on the highest peaks (highest peak is in dinara, 1831 m above sea level) it is a cold forest, while of course the Adriatic seacoast area has a Mediterranean climate with a large number of sunny day during specially during the months from May to October, and with a lot of rains. The average temperature is really different. For exempt in interior: January -2 to 00C, August about 200C and about 120C on the highest peaks. Average temperature of the whole country is: January: 5-90 C, August: 22-250C. Sea temperature in summer is around 250C.

The Croatian people like to tell the story about how Croatia was founded. In the very very old times had when created the world, wanted also to create a beautiful place for relaxing. But God with this goodness, deeded to share this place with hospitable, music – loving creation people. The ancient civilizations for centuries leave something in the air, the love for nature, sea and harmony. Just like sea waves shaped the rocks of coastline and numerous of islands and reefs for millenniums, creating a number less bays cover and beaches. Exactly the natures, beautiful warm, rich inside, are also the citizens. And just when you think that you have discovered everything here it comes the surprise, and you realize that everything is more deep rich completed and more beautiful, almost unreachable and incomprehensible.
By arriving in nowadays their homeland in 7th century AC, Croats found the population of Illyrians, under the Roman Empire and Christian influence. The reason of magnificent building and on very bountiful heritage is due to the fact that they where for centuries the only nation who enjoyed the privilege of Roman Empire, and this is also on the best meaning of the word reflected on traditional liturgical and paralitargical music that this nation posses today.
Croats history where converted to Christianity between the 7thand 9thcentury and since than adapted Roman alphabet. Croats are one of the nations with the oldest own state in Europe. Since in 925 by defeating two very powerful invaders of that time (Byzantine and Frankish) they established its own independent kingdom. Before the civil war in 1089, the kingdom of Croats got it’s peak, and after that they where weak to able to defend from Hungarian Kingdom, who conquered it in 1502 the kingdom of Croats was under the influence of Hungarian Kingdom (with the retained autonomy – Pact Convent) until the defeat of Hungarians by upcoming force of the Turkish Empire, in 1526, which brought establishing the Austro – Hungarian Kingdom in 1887, and Croatia became a part of Hungary. This situation lasted until the I world war and the defects of Austro – Hungarian Kingdom 1918.
On 29.oct.1918 Croatia proclaimed it’s independence and joined the union of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes’, which changed the name in Yugoslavia in 1929. The final and the last independence proclaiming come in June of 1991. The touristic and geographical regional Croatia can be divided in 9 areas. 1. Dalmatia : Dubrovnik area 2.
